The Steveston Farmers and Artisans Market is really new, opening just this spring. It's held every Sunday until the end of September, 11am - 4pm, next to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery. With over 50 vendors, the market has become a great success in just a few weeks. There are people selling jewelry, homemade fudge, art and photography, as well as fresh produce, flowers and plants, and health food. There are also local restaurant owners giving food prep demos and a stage area for live music performances. This is a great day out and once you're finished at the market there's always Steveston Village to check out, with jazz bands and dance groups performing on the docks.
